Kampala (HOL) – Somalia's U-15 football team celebrated its first win in the CAF African Schools Football Championship – CECAFA qualifiers, defeating Rwanda 2-0 on Wednesday.
The team's impressive performance in Uganda brought renewed hope and excitement to Somali fans, with the young players showcasing determination and skill on the field.
This marks the third match for Somalia in the current tournament. They previously lost 1-0 to Uganda and held Tanzania to a 0-0 draw.
The championship operates on a league system, where each team plays against all others. The teams with the highest points at the end of the matches will be crowned the winner.
The victorious team from the CECAFA qualifiers will secure an automatic spot in the CAF African Championship, scheduled for 2025.
