Mogadishu (HOL) - Armed robbers shot and killed a young man in the Karan district of Mogadishu on Monday night.
Witnesses say Mowlid Ali Mohamed was shot multiple times in Karan's Jamhuuriya neighbourhood while being robbed.
The thieves approached Mohamed and tried to rob his mobile phone. During the robbery, he was shot at close range multiple times.
He died on the scene.
Mohamed's family arrived on the scene shortly after the murder and retrieved his body. Friends say that he had recently graduated high school.
Mohamed's murder is the second time in two weeks that armed robbers attacked residents in Mogadishu's Karan district.
Police have not announced any suspects or arrests in either killing.
