LUUQ (HOL) - A soldier who was accused last year of shooting dead a civilian in Gedo region of southwestern Somalia was Monday executed by firing squad.
The officer identified as Abdi Hassan Dhafoor was executed by firing squad in Luuq district of Gedo region after he was found guilty of killing Sugow Garane Iyow on March 3, 2020 at a police station in the district.
The circumstances surrounding the killing of Iyow, an auto-rickshaw driver remained unclear.
Relatives of the deceased attended the execution which was conducted at an open space in the area.
