Mogadishu (HOL) - At least ten people, including children, were killed on Friday, and another 16 were seriously injured in a landmine blast in the Hawo Abdi area of Lower Shabelle.
According to witnesses, the landmine hit a vehicle carrying passengers and produce to Mogadishu's markets.
The blast victims were transported to Medina Hospital in Mogadishu for emergency treatment.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Al Shabaab militants frequently target the busy Afgoye-Mogadishu corridor with IEDs and ambush attacks.
