Father demands justice for pregnant daughter killed by husband

Tuesday February 6, 2024

Sheikh Abdiaziz Mohamed, alongside his family, calls for justice during a press conference in Mogadishu, Somalia, on Tuesday, February 5, 2024, following the tragic murder of his pregnant daughter by her husband.

Mogadishu (HOL) - Sheikh Abdiaziz Mohamed, the father of a woman brutally killed by her husband in Mogadishu, has called for accountability following the recent arrest of the perpetrator. Sheikh Abdiaziz expressed his gratitude towards the federal government's leaders for their prompt action in apprehending the accused, Sayid Ali Moalin Daoud.

The brutal murder of Luul Sheikh Abdiaziz, a pregnant woman and respected worker at Aden Adde Airport, has ignited a fervent plea for justice and a closer examination of the systemic issues plaguing Somalia.

Daoud, now in the custody of security forces, is accused of murdering his pregnant wife, Luul Sheikh Abdazis, in a horrific incident that has shocked the community. The grief-stricken father has not yet buried his daughter and her unborn child, expressing a desire to lay them to rest alongside the man who ended their lives.

"My daughter and her unborn child deserve justice. Their killer should face the full extent of the law," stated Sheikh Abdazis, emphasizing the severity of the crime and the need for a just resolution.

Luul's murder is not an isolated incident but part of a disturbing pattern of violence that has seen at least three women killed in marriage disputes in a single week.
