Bahrain King mourns fallen soldier in Somalia terrorist attack

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, offered condolences to the family of a fallen Bahraini serviceman who was among those four killed following a terrorist attack in Somalia.

Major Abdullah Rashid Al Noaimi lost his life along with three serviceman of the UAE Armed Forces while performing training missions in the capital city Mogadishu.

His body arrived on board a Royal Bahraini Air Force military aircraft at the Isa Air Base, where a military ceremony was conducted in the presence of the Minister of Defence Affairs, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi; and H.E. Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, the Chief of Staff; BDF senior officers and the family of the fallen serviceman.

Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, His Highness Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Adviser and Commander of the Royal Guard; and His Highness Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Guard Special Force Commander received the body.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, also offered his sincere condolences to the victim's family.

Eternal peace

HM the King prayed to Allah the Almighty to rest the soul of the fallen serviceman in eternal peace and to bless his family with patience and fortitude. He expressed pride in all the heroic fallen servicemen, whose noble sacrifices for the nation will always be remembered.

His Majesty hailed the families of the fallen servicemen for their patriotism and instilling national values in their sons. The family and relatives of the fallen serviceman, expressed their deep appreciation to His Majesty for his condolences and sympathy, wishing him abundant health, happiness and long life.

They reiterated allegiance and loyalty to HM the King, expressing their pride in their late son and in all Bahraini fallen servicemen.

Gunman

A Somali military source told AFP that the gunman was a member of the Somali army who opened fire inside a training camp.
