HARGEISA (HOL) — President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland expressed grave concern over recent killings of Somaliland nationals in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, during his attendance at the funeral of Ahmed Aden Abdirahman, a former member of the Somali Parliament, whose body was discovered in a Mogadishu hotel.

In a solemn address, President Bihi described the killings as unprecedented and deliberate, signalling a troubling trend in the area's security landscape.

"These killings are unprecedented for us," President Bihi remarked. "Somaliland doesn't just mourn the dead; it contemplates the circumstances."

The president highlighted the case of Ahmed Abdirahman, noting that false accusations of drug involvement were made against him posthumously, tarnishing his reputation.

Additionally, President Bihi referenced the recent murder of Abdinasir Muse Dahable, an operator with the Somali Civil Aviation Authority, whose death has also raised concerns about security in the region.

Despite ongoing investigations and arrests made by Somali police in connection with these incidents, the community remains on edge as authorities work to identify and apprehend those responsible.
