Al-Sudani receives PM of Somalia and his accompanying delegation

Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed on Saturday, that Iraq today possesses information, experience and know-how in the field of combating terrorism and tracking its groups.

The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani received the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, and his accompanying delegation, where he held an official reception ceremony for the guest Prime Minister in the government palace in the capital, Baghdad it included playing the national anthems of both countries.”
 

The statement added, "The meeting witnessed a discussion of bilateral relations and a number of files related to economic and security cooperation, as well as a number of issues at the regional and international levels of common interest."
 
It added, "Al-sudani  expressed his welcome to his Somali counterpart," stressing "the government's readiness to cooperate with the State of Somalia in several areas, as Iraq today enjoys the stability achieved after the defeat of terrorism through the efforts of the security forces, as well as the unity of the Iraqi people of all sects, which was a decisive factor in achieving victory."
 
It pointed out that "the armed forces continue to pursue the remnants of the defeated ISIS terrorist gangs.”
 
The statement explained that "the great danger posed by terrorism wherever it exists, and that it is in the interest of peoples and countries to cooperate in combating it not to be complacent about the threat and destabilization it poses."
 
For his part, the Somali Prime Minister expressed his "appreciation and gratitude for the warm reception, and his country's desire to benefit from Iraq's expertise in the field of combating terrorism, as well as in the field of economic cooperation, as Somalia possesses natural resources that have not been exploited."

The statement continued, "The meeting touched on the ongoing aggression against Gaza, and the genocide that the Palestinian people are being subjected to, which requires the international community to deal seriously to stop the brutal aggression and provide relief to our Palestinian people in Gaza, and the necessity of concerted efforts by Arab and Islamic countries to put pressure to stop the systematic killing machine for the Palestinians."
