Mogadishu (HOL) — Somali Police displayed three men accused of stealing livestock in an operation conducted in Mogadishu's Wadajir district, Banadir region police command announced Monday.
The suspects are believed to be part of a network involved in stealing animals, particularly goats, using luxury vehicles for their thefts.
"The Somali police forces, particularly the Wadajir police station, have apprehended three suspects accused of stealing livestock, specifically goats," read a statement from the Banadir Police Command.
The arrests follow the circulation of CCTV footage on social media last week, capturing three men stealing a goat and fleeing in a vehicle from one of Mogadishu's districts. The footage sparked public concern, prompting local authorities to take swift action.
