President William Ruto has insisted that development must be distributed fairly across all parts of the country.

Speaking on Saturday, Ruto said all parts of the country must feel like they belong to the Republic by also getting development.

He explained that this is what he means whenever he is out to commission road projects, some of which Kenyans are even making fun of.

The President cited the Isiolo-Mandera road that internet users made fun of, after he named all major towns along the 750 kilometers road.

Ruto reiterated that it is his mission as President to make sure no part of Kenya is left behind development wise.

“It's good for Kenyans to understand the same thing we are doing, building highways in Nairobi and other areas, we need to also bring up the remote areas of Kenya. That is why when I say we are building a 750 kilometers road from Isiolo to Mandera for Sh100 billion, many people don’t understand what I am trying to say," he said.

“I am trying to say that we need equity in the Republic of Kenya, we need every part of Kenya to feel that they are part of the whole of the Republic of Kenya. And it is my mission to make sure that no part of Kenya is left behind as we journey towards the progress of our nation."

The President spoke at the funeral service of late Baringo Senator William Cheptumo.

The service was held at Arap Moi Secondary School grounds in Bartabwa, Baringo County.

Ruto urged other leaders to always find a balance whenever it is anything to do with the interests of the country.

He said that the success of Kenya is the success of all citizens and its failure is a failure for all

He added that while they can disagree on other things, they should be patriotic and let the good of the country prevail at all times.

“I agree with the leaders who've spoken here that we need to think about our country. We need to be patriotic about Kenya. We can disagree on policies, programs, on how to implement, but we should never disagree about the destiny of Kenya, this is our country and it doesn't matter who you are or what you believe in," Ruto said.
